Mission Statement

Overview
Calgary Senior Men’s Slo-Pitch League 55+ was incorporated in Alberta in 1993 and leases facilities in northwest Calgary from the Triwood Community Association and the City of Calgary.
The League is open to men who will be fifty-five (55) years of age or older in the current calendar year. No experience is necessary as we have 3 main divisions with a wide range of competitiveness and required skills and a new Monday Morning Dayball Division that you can sign up for separately. New players are evaluated at the start of the season and slotted into one of the 3 main divisions described below, while players who sign up for the Monday Morning Dayball Division are placed on one of the teams in that Division. A draft is held each year before the start of the season to assign each member to one of the 20 – 22 teams in the 3 main divisions in order to ensure parity among the teams within each division. A Division is for players who still enjoy playing competitive ball and the social aspects of the league but who are perhaps not as skilled as they once were. The six teams in the A division play in the morning, and thus, it is mostly populated with men who have retired from work. Games are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 am or 11:30 am. A given team will play a single game on two of the three possible days each week. All games are played at the Triwood community diamond.
AA Division – plays in the evenings, Monday through Thursday, but mostly Tuesday through Thursday. The eight AA teams each play one double header each week. Games are at 6:00 pm and 7:15 pm and are played at either the Triwood community diamond or one of the two Charleswood diamonds. The players are mainly 60 to 70 years old, and play is still competitive, but the division has fewer highly skilled players than the AAA Division.
AAA Division – also plays in the evenings, Tuesday through Thursday. Each of the six to eight teams plays one double-header per week. Games are played at the two Charleswood diamonds. The players are generally 55 to 65 years old. This division is the most competitive.
Monday’s Only Recreational Dayball Division – this group plays Monday mornings/early afternoon only and is made up mainly of AAA and AA Players, although some A Division players also play. This is a much more relaxed and casual Division. Games are played at the Charleswood 1 diamond and typically start around 10am. It’s a great Division to get your feet wet again if you haven’t played in a while or are just looking for a more relaxed atmosphere or just to get in some extra playing time if you plan on playing in another division as well.
