Station L Rowing Club is a member-governed 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation located in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1972, we are a community rowing club and offer a complete adult rowing program, from accessible Learn to Row classes for the general public to high-level competitive opportunities for our members. Member-coached programs include sculling and sweep rowing. Club members compete in local, regional, and national regattas, generally in the Masters category. In 2017, we won the Women’s Team Points Trophy at the USRowing NW Regional Masters Championships. In 2016, we won the Efficiency Points Trophy at the USRowing Masters National Championships. The club can be found at the Portland Boathouse, now located at 403 Caruthers St., in a red and white building next door to the cabooses of Mt. Hood Brewing Company. In addition to serving Station L, the Portland Boathouse is home to Willamette Riverkeeper, Rose City Rowing Club, Wasabi Paddling Club, and Portland State University Crew. Station L owns seven 8+s, five 4+s, six 4xs, twelve 2x/2-s, and we have access to a fleet of over fifty singles. Our boatyard is located at the west end of SE Ivon St. Our access to the Willamette River in downtown Portland gives us miles of river suitable for rowing year-round. We have weekend coached practices year-round, with weekday water practices running from March to November as conditions permit. During the winter, we organize weekday erg sessions. Water practices generally run from 7-9:30 a.m. on the weekends and 5-7:30 a.m. during the week. Noon and evening sessions are also available for some squads. Our Learn to Row classes run from April through October. The schedule is announced in January. We run Learn to Erg classes on a semi-regular basis.
