A few of our most commonly asked questions:

Q: How do I join?

Game invites go out every Thursday morning at 8am.

Q: Do I need to be able to make every game?
A: Absolutely not. But it’s helpful if women make an effort to come out once/month just to keep our numbers up. We can’t keep games going without your help!

Q: Do I need to be in shape?
A: Absolutely not! Come get in shape with us on the field. And just play as long as you can (no need to play the entire game). We also play on SMALL fields (not regulation size by any means lol).

Q: What if I’ve never played before?
A: No problem! Our group is super welcoming & will help show you the ropes. There is a place for everyone here.

Q: What do I need to play?
A: Wear whatever clothes & shoes are comfy for you to run in. Cleats are NOT necessary, but can be helpful when the grass is wet. Bring water & a positive attitude!

Q: Are there practices?
A: No. These games are just for FUN. They are called “pick up” games, meaning whoever shows up, we just divide up into 2 “teams” and play for fun! It’s a different mix of women each week.

Q: How long do you usually play for?
A: Games can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but you only have to play as long as your body allows you. How long we play for varies weekly depending on a variety of factors such as: weather/heat, how many women show up, how in shape everyone is/isn’t, etc.

Q: What is the age limit?
A: Must be over 18 to play. Average age of our group is currently late 20s to early 30s, but I would be thrilled to have more 40-somethings join me out there! We’ve even had women in their 50s & 60s come out and have a good time!

Q: Where are games?
A: We are currently playing at McCracken Middle School in Spartanburg.

Q: When are games?
A: We play every week, year-round, typically Sundays, but sometimes on Saturday. Game times vary by time of year (esp with the heat), as well as everyone’s availability. Follow us on IG & FB for game days, and join our email list for invites.

Q: I haven’t played in years. Is that okay?
A: Absolutely! Most women who have joined our group are in your position. This is a very safe, non-competitive, and non-aggressive group. Everyone is inclusive & passes the ball to each other. There is no slide-tackling, or rough play.
