SVGSL is the first league of its kind in Santa Clara Valley to provide an athletic, recreational, and social opportunity for the LGBTQIA+ Community of the greater San Jose area, as well as friends of the LGBTQIA+ Community, through participation in organized softball league competition. The purpose of the SVGSL is to provide an opportunity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) individuals and their allies to play organized slow-pitch softball in an environment that is safe, healthy, and free of negative attitudes based on differences in sexual orientation. The SVGSL promotes good sportsmanship, the welfare of its members and the community, development of positive relationships among its members and the community. The SVGSL organizes and supports participation by its members in athletic, social, cultural, and/or charitable events which may serve the preceding purposes. SVGSL is a proud member of NAGAAA (North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance).
