Seattle Women’s was formed in the early 1980s by a group of East Coast transplants who were still eager to continue playing lacrosse post-college. We are part of the PNWLL (Pacific Northwest Lacrosse League) and compete against teams from the surrounding Seattle area, Portland, Tacoma, and Vancouver. Who can play? While we aren’t a team for beginners, we welcome players with a diverse range of experiences. When is the season? While we occasionally participate in some fall ball and summer competition, our regular season is March – June. Where are games? Since our league is built on teams outside of the Seattle area, we do travel at least one weekend a season. What’s the commitment level? We realize that we can’t expect 100% commitment from our adult players, but we do stress that in order to secure a spot on our team, you must be able to commit to at least 50% of all games, practices, and outings. The season schedule is sent out after tryouts if/when you are offered a spot. What can I expect? Our 32-person roster is full of incredible women from all over the county, ranging from just out of college to the beloved veteran women in their mid-40s. We work hard at building relationships with our teammates both on and off the field from pre-season retreats, booking Airbnbs for out-of-town games to getting post-game beers!
