To share our passion and love for the game of volleyball. Since 2007, The Sand Club has been offering leagues, tournaments, and clinics. The people that we’ve met on the court have become framily. We consider ourselves the luckiest people on the planet to be doing what we love with the people we love! We want your Sand Club experience to be absolutely “sandtastic” and our number one goal is to connect everyone to our community that contacts us.
How It Started

“Fun first, competition second” is our motto because we believe that volleyball is about having a blast, playing in the great AZ outdoors and kicking back with friends. Back in the day, we played at Minder Binders (aka the Big Red Barn) and became addicted. After that was shut down, we played at Pranksters & The Pointe South Mountain several nights a week.

With the announcement of The Pointe volleyball courts getting bulldozed, we decided to start up a league of our own, catering to the East Valley. In July 2007, TheSandClub.com was born and shortly after came our first league on Tuesday nights consisting of 8 teams and 32 players. We have since grown to hosting over 16 divisional leagues with over 500 players a week.

In 2012, we began hosting tournaments for the EVP, the largest Pro-Am Volleyball Tour in the nation, and in 2015 we began hosting AVPNext tournaments. In April of 2015, The Sand Club celebrated the Grand Opening of Mesquite Beach, located within Mesquite High School, featuring four courts with professional-grade sand and lighting. Mesquite Beach is the premier facility for beach volleyball training, leagues, and tournaments.

The Sand Club is the largest sand volleyball club in Arizona with over 500 active players during the week. In addition to training, tournaments, and leagues, The Sand Club hosts a number of special events each year, including Father/Son, Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, Mother/Daughter, Holiday Costume 4s, Glow In The Dark, Pro Series, Legacy Championships, USA Volleyball National Qualifiers, AVP America National Qualifiers, P1440 National Qualifiers, and other sanctioned events.

THE MISSION

The Sand Club is a volleyball organization that is dedicated to providing fun, organized beach volleyball leagues and volleyball tournaments on well-maintained courts, while giving back to the community by donating proceeds from tournaments to worthy causes. We offer an internet-savvy form of communication between players with Facebook Events and live broadcasts.

THE CULTURE

The Sand Club welcomes players of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to competitive players, whether you have a team or are looking for a team. We help introduce teams/players to the volleyball community in the East Valley. The Sand Club encourages “tailgating tendencies” and sharing a passion for volleyball. Our leagues echo the sound of music and good times – including rad ’80s hairband tunes! The Sand Club “DIGGS” our Champions by posting on Facebook and Instagram to demonstrate how proud we are to have such a dynamic volleyball culture.

We consider The Sand Club a Players Club. We are eager to hear feedback from the players to help guide us in how we run the leagues and organize tournaments. We encourage any and all players to contact us or post comments on our Facebook Group page with concerns you would like to have addressed.
