History, Mission, & Core Values
PADA offers a variety of opportunities for people of all lifestyles and demographics to play Ultimate. Adult leagues exist across the Philadelphia area, from Center City to Delaware, Chester County, and South Jersey. PHUEL, our high-school league, provides opportunities for thousands of youth in the Philadelphia area. PADA runs weekend tournaments for players of all skill levels year-round.

Our History

The Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance was founded in 1985 to facilitate area Ultimate Clubs, Freestyle, and Disc Golf and to introduce a summer co-ed Ultimate league. PADA continues to support all things disc. In 2020, PADA installed its own disc-golf course at Edgely Ultimate Fields. The success of our leagues and community programs channels our energy into the sport of Ultimate.

PADA currently runs recreational leagues for adults of all skill levels each season. We offer outdoor leagues throughout the spring, summer, and fall, and have a robust selection of indoor leagues throughout the colder months of the year. PADA partners with the School District of Philadelphia to offer after-school programming centered around Ultimate. PADA aspires to foster a strong sense of community among its members throughout the Philadelphia region.

Our Core Values

We believe Ultimate is for everyone. We strive to provide different opportunities to reflect the needs of our community members. We believe in creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community and giving people from all backgrounds—people of all races, genders, ages, sexualities, religions, and abilities—the opportunity to learn about and play Ultimate at varying levels of play. We believe in a spirit of integrity, respect, and sportsmanship—which we call Spirit of the Game. We believe in promoting, teaching, and providing opportunities to play Ultimate to players of all skill levels and ages with the goal of growing our sport and community. We believe in using Ultimate as a means to bring people together to foster cultural inclusion. We believe in being good stewards of the land and good neighbors to our communities. We believe that member volunteerism and participation are an integral part of the organization. We believe in the unique sense of community established by and found in PADA. We believe PADA is the leading umbrella organization for Ultimate in the greater Philadelphia region. We believe in an informed membership with an active voice in guiding the organization.
