The current Northwest Indiana Rugby Club is a result of the merger between Illiana Rugby Club, which was an amateur Men’s (2002) and Women’s (2015) USA Rugby Club founded by a bunch of gung-ho Marines, and the Northwest Indiana Rugby Club founded in 1973 (as the Gary Rugby Club) by a bunch of steelworkers.
A Tradition of Team Spirit

We welcome members of all skill levels to come and play. The club was created to create a competitive and learning atmosphere for new and experienced ruggers alike.

Where We Play

Our home field is located at Riverside Park in Hammond, Indiana, and we serve all of Northwest Indiana and South Suburban Chicago, including Hammond, Munster, Schererville, Highland, Crown Point, Dyer, Lansing, Cal City, and surrounding cities.
