WELCOME TO THE GARDEN STATE SOCCER LEAGUE
We are an adult amateur soccer league that has been active since 1980. Our teams compete in numerous national events and represent the league and New Jersey in the US Open Cup, USASA National Cup and USASA Amateur Cup, as well as O-30 National Cups. Since 1980, we’ve had 1,379 teams playing in the league, and a total of 31,000 players have been registered with the GSSL since then.

The GSSL shall operate the following competitive Divisions:

SUPER DIVISION – Special policies apply to this Division

SEMIPRO DIVISION – Special policies apply to this Division

MEN’S A DIVISION
There are no age restrictions in this division.

MEN’S B DIVISION
There are no age restrictions in this division.

MEN’S OVER-30 DIVISION
Over-30 divisions are limited to players that are 30 years old or older on the date of the game.

MEN’S OVER-40 DIVISION
Over-40 Division is limited to players that are 38 years old or older on the date of the game.

WOMEN’S DIVISION
There are no age restrictions in this division.

In general, new teams are allocated to start at the lowest level of competition, unless a team is able to show that they can be competitive at the higher level that they desire to enter.

Each division may be broken down into localized Groups (i.e., North, Central or South) to reduce the amount of traveling for the teams.

Every attempt will be made to allocate teams to the division Group in the area where they play their home games.

The Executive Committee has the power to make the final decision of allocation of a team to a Division and/or to a Local Group.
