Asheville Buncombe Adult Soccer Association (ABASA) is an organization with a Board of Directors; it is a volunteer-run, non-profit association. We have nearly 2,000 soccer players in our leagues over the calendar year, making ABASA the 2nd largest league in the state of NC. The fall season starts just after Labor Day weekend in September and runs through December. Spring will pick back up in February and run through May. Then we have a shortened summer league that runs June through August. We have 4 leagues in each season: Open (Sundays, 5 divisions), Women’s (Sundays, 2 divisions), O40 Open (Tuesday nights, 3 divisions), and Co-Ed (Friday nights, 3 divisions). The divisions range in skill and ability. Captains put in teams and recruit each season if they need more players, and we always are able to find a home for new players.
